Passion for Food & Quality
We work with our suppliers to source the very best and freshest ingredients. Our skilled kitchen teams then take great care using these ingredients to prepare and serve great quality meals each and every day.
At CCS we go above and beyond Government food standards, and have been accredited with the Soil Association Food for Life Bronze Award for a number of years.
We proudly support suppliers and food producers throughout East Anglia. All our meat is sourced from Red Tractor approved suppliers, with much of it from Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk farms.
East Anglia is a major centre for horticulture, cultivating everything from cereals, peas and beans to apples, strawberries and salad crops. Farmers in East Anglia harvest more than two thirds of England’s sugar beet crop and one third of its potato crop.
When it comes to fruit, vegetables and salads, over fifty percent of our expenditure is made on seasonal produce from local growers and suppliers. We work closely with our suppliers to source the best and freshest ingredients. Our free range eggs are also sourced from the region and each egg is also Freedom Food and Lion Code approved.
CCS is proud of our ongoing commitment to support the local economy and keeping food miles to a minimum.
Our kitchen teams expertly prepare meals from scratch, using traditional recipes, and healthy, fresh, local ingredients.
We help our staff develop their skills to achieve their potential. All our kitchen teams are given the opportunity to train and develop their skills, and we currently have record numbers of staff developing their skills through accredited training and development courses arranged by our Training Manager, Rachel Margerum, and her team of Trainers. They arrange accredited courses ranging from craft cookery skills, to Supervision and Management.
We have a clear and professional understanding of the dietary needs of customers, with our in-house Dietitian, Patricia Herbert, overseeing each menu and managing medical diets for those customers requiring them.
